We welcomed Carter Peterson from a local Boy Scout troop to talk about his Eagle Scout project that he will be completing at Valley Middle School within the next couple of weeks. Very impressive presentation and we look forward to hearing how his project plays out.
As many of you are aware, the Guide On holiday party has been cancelled. Many of the kids that were helping have grown up and the needs are different at this stage. We are currently looking for another organization that we can help. Please let us know if you have any suggestions or ideas.
Carlsbad Street Fair is tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 5th!! Thanks to Irene for the many art donations that she has procured, we are hoping to get some interest in membership along with earning some money so we can continue with all of our great projects.
Some of our past and present members have been having some health issues so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!!
We are moving forward with both the Oratorical and Essay Contest. Pam has already stepped up and stated that she is willing to work on both.
I am asking all members to please make a conscious effort to attend our meetings. As many of you know, we are not holding our golf tournament this year and we need all members/Friends of Optimists for any new fundraising ideas that they have. I love that our mission is ‘to help local kids in the community’ and with the golf tournament not on our calendar, we definitely need everyone’s input as to some new ideas for fundraising and for moving our Club into the future.
Please remember to use smile.amazon.com for any purchases that you make on Amazon!! Our club receives a portion of the purchases.

Lastly, our Facebook site contains images of recent events and announcements. We appreciate it if you “LIKE” what you see. Thanks for visiting the site, and sharing the optimism with others!
We are always looking for new members!! If you know of anyone that would make a great addition to our club, please invite them to a meeting! Give me a call and I would be happy to personally invite them as well!

Let nothing affect your Optimism and the state of your positivism.
The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.
