Lori Pfeiler and Anthony Flores from the SD Habitat for Humanity joined us sharing their experience in helping families through San Diego providing a place to live. Please see attached flier. Habitat for Humanity takes good usable clean furniture, appliances 7 years or newer, and home improvement materials for their ReStore Operation. They do not take clothing, beds, or thrift items. Primarily home improvement items and/or materials.

This Thursday, December 19th at 6:00 am, Chuck & Carol Hamilton along with Tim Jeffries will be meeting at Ralph’s to pick up the food items for our Military Baskets. The rest of us will meet at the Provence House at 7:00 am to help assemble the baskets (boxes). Coffee & donuts will be provided. RSVP will be appreciated. 😉
Thursday, December 26th, we will not have a morning meeting due to the Christmas Holidays. Merry Christmas everyone!!

January 24, 2020: Roger Tibbetts – 12:15 pm in line at the Miramar National Cemetery – Celebration of Life to follow at the Provence House.
The loss of these 2 fine gentlemen has been a real loss for our Community.

On Saturday, December 7th, members from the Carmel Valley Middle School Junior Optimist Club, and the Canyon Crest Academy Junior Optimist Club, both sponsored by the Del Mar – Solana Beach Optimist Club helped with the setup, serving, and cleanup at the San Dieguito County Park’s “Breakfast With Santa” event. They prepared the stage for Santa’s arrival and photo opportunities, helped with food service, and cleaned up after the event.

Thanks to Ranger Alejandro and Ranger Gaby for inviting our Junior Optimist Clubs to help at the San Dieguito County Park events. And thanks to all the JOI Club members who showed up to help out.
On Sunday December 8th, nine members of the Canyon Crest Academy Junior Optimist Club went to the Ronald McDonald House to make holiday treats for the families of kids being treated in Rady Children’s Hospital. With some efficient teamwork, the group was able to complete their menu of baked treats that comprised gingerbread cookies, sugar cookies, blueberry muffins, vanilla and chocolate frosted cupcakes and triple chocolate brownies.
